Full-Time Evening Custodian – Appleton Village School

Appleton Village School is now hiring a year-round full-time custodian or two part-time people. The normal work schedule for this position is 2 pm to 10 pm. If it is two part-time positions the hours would be approximately 2 pm to 6 pm and 6 pm to 10 pm. The successful candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule and be willing to adapt to different assignments day to day.

Qualifications:  Ability to lift 45 lbs., Current Criminal History Background Check (may be completed at the time of hire), excellent communication skills, and basic computer proficiency.Cleaning of public buildings experience including floor striping & waxing and light maintenance are required. Positive attitude, must like children and be flexible.

Position Description:  Cleans the school using CDC guidelines.

Salary:   Based on experience

Part-Time School Nurse - Hope Elementary School

Hope Elementary School is a K-8 school seeking a registered school nurse 20+ hours a week, beginning September 1st. Experience with young children is required. Knowledge of Section 504 and Individual Health Plans (IHPs), as well as an ability to remove health-related barriers to learning for students is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must possess a current RN License issued by the State of Maine, three years experience, possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education School Nurse Certification (Endorsement 524) and Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) Certification.

General Job Description:

The school nurse serves as the primary healthcare provider and coordinator within the public school.  The school nurse supports student learning by helping to manage both acute and chronic medical conditions of students.  Specific duties include triage, providing emergency medical care, administering or supervising the administration of prescription medications, providing guidance on medical issues, performing vision, hearing and other related screenings as required by Maine Department of Education, maintaining communications with families regarding medical concerns, maintaining student medical records, monitoring immunization compliance, and communicating with staff as necessary.

Part-Time Music Teacher - Hope Elementary School 

Hope Elementary School seeks qualified applicants for the position of K-8 Music Teacher, starting in the 2020-2021 school year.  This is a 3.5 day/week position. Candidates must be qualified to teach general music classes to our K-5 students. Additionally, applicants must be proficient in the teaching of instrumental lessons for our 5-8 students in our band program. Appropriate, current K-8 certification is required.

School Psychological Examiner – Contracted Position

School Union 69 is seeking a School Psychological Examiner. This position is a contracted position in our three K-8 schools.

The successful applicant will work as a collaborative team to conduct evaluations, observations and assessments as needed, as well as consulting and collaborating with the Special Education Director and each school’s educational staff at the K-8 level. Knowledge of mental health and behavioral needs preferred.

The applicant must be licensed as a School Psychological Examiner and hold an 093 School Psychologist certification.

Substitute Teachers for the Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville Schools

Pay scale for substitute teachers is as follows:

Subs with 4 year degrees (in anything):$100/day

$110/day if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (although we usually hire a sub with a teaching degree who then gets their per diem as a teacher pay)

Subs without degrees:$85/day

$95 if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (see above however)
