Middle School Language Arts Teacher - Hope Elementary School
The Hope Elementary School is seeking a middle school Language Arts teacher for the 2021 -2022 school year. Appropriate State of Maine certification required.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, collaborative, energetic, and knowledgeable about the middle schoolchild and should possess the following:

Experience as a 6-8 LA teacher preferred;
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practice;
Knowledge of differentiated instruction and assessment;
Interested in innovative approaches;
Skilled at working with all students;
Capacity to utilize technology to enhance practice;
Familiarity with proficiency-based education;
Interest or experience in interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning.

 First Grade Teacher - Appleton Village School

Appleton Village School is seeking a first grade teacher to join our K-2 team for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a positive attitude and is flexible when needed.

Appleton Village School has an innovative first and second grade looping program. The first grade teacher teaches the Wonders Literacy program to both grades while the second grade teacher teaches Everyday Math to both grades. AVS has seen significant growth in student achievement using this model over the past few years.

Appleton is a small rural K-8 school with small class sizes and an extraordinary K-8 staff. As a small school, we offer many innovative programs for students.

Experience in the following programs is desirable: McGraw-Hill Wonders Reading, PBIS or Responsive Classroom, SEL, and Marzano best practices.

School Psychological Examiner – Contracted Position

School Union 69 is seeking a School Psychological Examiner. This position is a contracted position in our three K-8 schools.

The successful applicant will work as a collaborative team to conduct evaluations, observations and assessments as needed, as well as consulting and collaborating with the Special Education Director and each school’s educational staff at the K-8 level. Knowledge of mental health and behavioral needs preferred.

The applicant must be licensed as a School Psychological Examiner and hold an 093 School Psychologist certification.

Substitute Teachers for the Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville Schools

Pay scale for substitute teachers is as follows:

Subs with a four year degree (in anything):  $125/day

$135/day if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (although we usually hire a sub with a teaching degree who then gets their per diem as a teacher pay)

Subs without a four year degree:  $100/day

$110 if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (see above however)
