ANTICIPATED OPENING - FINANCE ASSISTANT - CENTRAL OFFICE

School Union 69’s Central Office is looking for someone to manage Accounts Payable and other duties to assist the Bookkeeper, Superintendent and schools. This is an anticipated opening.

The Central Office of School Union 69 is a small, tight knit organization, supporting the schools of Appleton, Hope and Lincolnville. We work closely together, and support one another in a relaxed but productive environment. We maintain compliance with district policies as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Our willingness to learn new tasks to support one another and “all hands on deck” attitude are a large part of what makes our small office work so well.

WHO YOU ARE:

The following attributes sum up what our office needs:

-experience with school funding preferred

-experience with financial software essential (we use ADS, so familiarity with that program is a plus)

-understanding of accounting principles

-detail oriented, accurate

-conscientious and independent

-willing to provide back up for bookkeeper on payroll when needed

-coachable, flexible

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

-ensure accurate accounting of all account receivables and payables

-maintain accurate accounting of all state and federal grants

-interact with Maine DOE and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency and policy requirements.

-submit invoicing for reimbursement to the state on a regular basis

-maintain and update each school’s information for active status annually in SAM.gov, Dunn and Bradstreet and the G5.gov account

-work closely with bookkeeper, superintendent and principals to invoice and track expenditures

-transactions for cash receipts/deposits

-maintain an accurate and organized record of purchase orders, invoices and W-9s

-maintain vendor files and relationships with vendors

-process invoices, verifying account codes

-process and print checks once a month

-other duties as assigned by the Bookkeeper and/or Superintendent

Terms of Employment: Full-time, year-round position, up to $24.48 per hour, single health insurance coverage paid by SU 69, paid time off.

ANTICIPATED OPENING FOR FULL TIME BOOKKEEPER - CENTRAL OFFICE

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience; computer skills; ability to work in an office team environment of shared responsibilities. Proficiency with financial operations.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools.

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is a year-round position.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Hourly wage is negotiable. Health Insurance Benefit. Salary and benefits will be reviewed annually.

Special Education Teacher - Hope Elementary School

Hope Elementary is seeking a dynamic and innovative special educator to work with students in grades K-6.  The selected candidate will be working in a special designed life-skills program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and delivering specially designed instruction in multiple content areas,
  • Supporting students with behavioral needs,
  • Collecting and utilizing behavioral and academic data to inform interventions and instruction,
  • Supervising special education technicians,
  • Completing special education documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a willingness to seek nontraditional solutions to issues as they arise, an ability to build positive relationships with students, and a willingness to collaborate with parents, special educators, regular educators, service providers, and administrators as appropriate.

Hope Elementary School is a small rural school of 150 students PreK-8. 

 

The successful candidate must have the appropriate background, education, experience and a current Maine Dept. of Education certification and fingerprinting.

School Psychological Examiner – Contracted Position

School Union 69 is seeking a School Psychological Examiner. This position is a contracted position in our three K-8 (Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville) schools. This position is part-time with the possibility of sharing the position with other local districts.

The successful contractor will work as a collaborative team member to conduct evaluations, observations and assessments as needed, as well as consulting and collaborating with the Special Education Director and each school’s educational staff at the K-8 level. Knowledge of mental health and behavioral needs is preferred.

The contractor must be licensed as a School Psychological Examiner and hold an 093 School Psychologist certification.

Substitute Teachers for the Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville Schools

Pay scale for substitute teachers is as follows:

Subs with a four year degree (in anything):  $125/day

$135/day if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (although we usually hire a sub with a teaching degree who then gets their per diem as a teacher pay)

Subs without a four year degree:  $100/day

$110 if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (see above)
