Kindergarten Teacher - Hope Elementary School

Hope Elementary School is looking for a Kindergarten teacher to join our Hope Elementary School PK-8 Team.   Appropriate State of Maine certification and HQT required.  We seek a teacher who is experienced in guiding elementary children through a dynamic, successful school year.  Qualified candidates will demonstrate practices in teaching the whole child, not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.  The ideal candidate will be experienced, collaborative, energetic, engaging and knowledgeable about the elementary school child and should possess the following:

  • Experience as elementary classroom teacher preferred;
  • Familiarity with proficiency based education;
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices;
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and assessment;
  • Interested in innovative approaches;
  • Skilled at working with all students;
  • Capacity to utilize technology to enhance instruction;
  • Interest or experience in interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning.

Co_-Ed Soccer Coach - Appleton Village School

The Appleton Village School is seeking a Co-ed Soccer Coach for the fall of 2022. The successful candidate will have prior playing and/or coaching experience and be knowledgeable of Sports Done Right. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a coaching philosophy consistent with the philosophy of the Busline League and the Appleton School Department. A Maine Department of Education History Record Check (CHRC) is required. This is a stipend position.

School Psychological Examiner – Contracted Position

School Union 69 is seeking a School Psychological Examiner. This position is a contracted position in our three K-8 (Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville) schools. This position is part-time with the possibility of sharing the position with other local districts.

The successful contractor will work as a collaborative team member to conduct evaluations, observations and assessments as needed, as well as consulting and collaborating with the Special Education Director and each school’s educational staff at the K-8 level. Knowledge of mental health and behavioral needs is preferred.

The contractor must be licensed as a School Psychological Examiner and hold an 093 School Psychologist certification.

Substitute Teachers for the Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville Schools

Pay scale for substitute teachers is as follows:

Subs with a four year degree (in anything):  $125/day

$135/day if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (although we usually hire a sub with a teaching degree who then gets their per diem as a teacher pay)

Subs without a four year degree:  $100/day

$110 if more than 10 continuous days retroactive to day 1 (see above)
